TCF (Test de Connaissance du Français)

What's the TCF?

The General knowledge test of the French is an examination organized by the International Center of Teaching studies (CIEP), independent organism of the ministry of education.

It places the students on 6 levels defined by the council of Europe.

The TCF permets the access to the French universities for the foreign students.

Examination includes:

An obligatory test, 1h30, it's a questionnary including 80 items on :

• control of the structure of the language (20min)
• oral comprehension (25min)
• written comprehension (45min)

An optional test of written expression (1h45)
An optional test of oral expression (15min)

TCF preparation :

12 hours of intensive preparation on 3 weeks

• Revisions and deepening of structural knowledge of the language
• Training with the QCM
• Preparation to the optional tests
